WNC Aviation Personal Training…… it's time to be your own Captain

How much does it cost?

The cost of your Private Pilot or Instrument certificate is dependent upon your frequency of training and dedication to learning the course study material.  There are many ways to mitigate the total cost of your certificate such as:

1.  Be prepared for each lesson by completing the home study lessons assigned by your instructor.
2.  Train as often as possible.  This reduces the need for excessive review from you last lesson.
3.  Utilize our full motion flight simulator when appropriate in the curriculum as well as for supplemental training exercises.

Is there financing available?

Yes.  Financing is provided by Pilot Finance Group.  Applications are available at the school.

How long does it take?

For most people the Private Pilot Course takes from 2 - 8 months.  The more often you are able to train, the faster your will progress.  We have had students accomplish this in as little as 1 month.

How old do you have to be to train and earn a certificate?

There is no age minimum for training, however, you must be 17 years old before you take the Practical Exam better known as your "Check Ride".

What are the physical and/or medical requirements to become a pilot?

Flying an airplane is not an excessively taxing physical activity.  Persons of modest physical ability and strength are routinely able to serve as pilots.  Individuals seeking a Private Pilot Certificate or higher will need to obtain an FAA medical certificate from a Designated Medical Examiner.  This exam is non-invasive and usually takes about 30 minutes.  Overall health is assessed.  For more information please visit: http://www.faa.gov/licenses_certificates/medical_certification/get/

I’ve already trained some at another school.  Can my training transfer?

Yes.  Most, if not all, of your training is transferable.  We will carefully review your log book and build a training plan that best utilizes your previous training.

Can I train in my own aircraft?

Yes.  Our instructors are qualified and insured to train you in a wide variety of aircraft.

Can I rent your planes after I earn my license?

Yes.  Many of our students become renters after achieving their license or certificate.

If I complete your instructor course, can I work at WNC Aviation?

Yes.  All graduates of the WNC Aviation Instructor Course are offered a position.
